Camden Vital Records Residents Directory
The Camden City Office of Vital Statistics is at City Hall, Room 105, 520 Market Street. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Arrive by 2:30 PM for same-day service. The office closes at 3:00 PM sharp so staff can finish daily work. Marriages and corrections to vital records are handled by appointment only. Email vitalstat@camdennj.gov to schedule.
The fee for a certified copy is $25 for the first copy and $10 for each additional copy of the same record in the same transaction. This fee took effect in January 2024. No records can be verified by phone, fax, or email for security reasons. The Camden residents directory only includes records of events that happened in the City of Camden from 1924 to the present.
You must bring valid state identification with proof of your current address. If you are married and your name has changed, bring a copy of your marriage certificate. Two alternate forms of ID can substitute if you lack state ID. For mail requests, send the completed application, a copy of your ID, payment by check or money order to the City of Camden, and a self-addressed stamped envelope. Mail requests take 10 to 15 business days.

The county clerk does not issue birth certificates. That is the city registrar's job. But the county office does maintain property records, deeds, and mortgages for all Camden County towns. You can search these records online through the county's digital system. The office also offers E-Recording for land documents, which allows electronic submission.
The Election Division manages vote-by-mail applications, sample ballots, and official election results. Voter registration and party affiliation changes are processed here too.
